Getting ready for Memphis

Just printed my map to Harrah's office in Memphis, TN, and my boarding
pass for the HOU-MEM leg of tomorrow's flights. I'll spend the day
visiting with the client and making sure our consultant that is working
on an integration project out there is doing what he needs in order to
keep everyone happy, and the project moving in the right direction.
Seems to be a bit rocky lately, mainly based on the fact that I think
they jumped into development before doing any real design work -- that
always leads to mis-steps and false starts. I think we'll be
gut-checking the project tomorrow to see if we are on the right track,
and if we're doing things we planned, or if we need to re-forecast the
plan.

Travel this week is going to be busy, with the up / back trip to
Memphis tomorrow, then off to Dallas for the rest of the week. I may be
able to get back home earlier tomorrow (around 6), but I think I'll
have to take the later flight that will get me back after 8. Worst part
of it all is that I can't fly Southwest, since they only fly to
Nashville, and that's not close enough to drive. Oh, well -- I still
got a free ticket in the mail today from last month's SWA travel, so
it's not really that much to complain about!

On a family note: Porter got his certificate / T-Shirt for completing
his swimming basics class -- he's able to float, get out of the pool
himself, survive being thrown in with all his clothes on and make it to
the side, dive down and get rings, and everything!! He makes a big deal
about not wanting to do it, but he's a pro -- and from what I can tell,
when he's not in his official lesson, he loves the pool. Way to go
Porter!
