What
a great week! Jackson's 4 month doctor's visit was Tuesday morning
at 11, and everything checked out perfect.
He's now 25.5"
long, 15 pounds 10.25 ounces and has a 16 7/8" head. This month,
he got his DTP, Polio, HIB and Hep B vaccines, too.
Boy, those vaccinations
put him in a horrible mood for a day, though! It was bad enough that
he had to miss his morning nap to go to the doctor, but to get shots
that make you feel icky all day?!?!? We gave him some childrens' Tylenol
and he was fine, though.
He're really
getting active, too. He rolls over both ways by himself, now -- so
that means we have to keep a good eye on him so he doesn't roll away
. . .
And he's almost
sleeping through the night -- maybe by next week?
The weekend
!We had a blast
at the Houston Marathon yesterday. Katie, Jackson and I went to the
H4 Mile to support all of our friends (and thousands of others) that
were determined enough to run the whole 26 miles.
We were stationed
at mile 24 with the rest of our group, all decked out for the race.
The theme of our mile: Well, it was 'Red Dress', of course. Imagine,
80 people, men women and children, all decked out in their fanciest
red dresses. We may have gotten a few odd looks, but for the folks
at the middle and end of the pack -- we were the knead boost to get
them the final two miles! And the beer we handed out to the runners
probably helped, too.
I did more than
just cheer, though. Bald Eagle and I pitched in on the 'wall committee'
and took around helium and baboons for miles 20 to 25 and the start.
We met over at Fonde Rec Center at about 6:30, then started delivering
the goods by about 7. After that it was back to the H4 Mile to change
into our dresses.
Katie and Jackson
came out at about 9:30 and they were just the cutest little couple
you could ever imagine. Katie had a red dress in the closet, of course.
But not Jackson and I. That's nothing a quick trip to the Salvation
Army Thrift Store couldn't fix, though.
I picked up my
dress, a yellow scarf to go with it, a red bandanna (just 'cause)
and a beautiful red-velvet BabyGap dress for Jackson -- all for $11.00!
What a bargain!

Anyway, the Marathon
was a riot, we cheered everyone on, and ended up back at the house
by 1 to relax. Katie went over to her mom's with Jackson for a while
and I took a quick nap and got some work done.
What's next:
we're going to Baton Rouge this weekend for my dad's birthday and
to see family. Should be fun!
