Well, another
month has come and gone, with little (read: NO) update on the site
as to what the heck I'm doing, how Jackson is growing and what Katie's
up to! That's all about to change, buddy -- we're back on schedule!!
Really -- I'm
back on track doing little weekly updates now, so you'll get the information
quick, short, and fresh. Almost as it happens. So enough of the administata,
on to the scoop:
Right now it's
just finished pouring down rain, Jackson's asleep for his morning
nap, and Katie's at the OTC passing out bags and candy bars for Zero.
Yesterday, she came home with soaking wet shoes -- rain yesterday,
too.
Hopefully it
won't be bad weather all week -- Zero really needs the exposure of
the show, so they need good weather for their outside booth. We'll
see how it goes . . .
Over the past
weekend, we went to the lake for Saturday and Sunday. Mom took care
of Jackson on Friday night (a sleep over at the lake) and Katie and
I went out for our anniversary. (It was a week late, but our anniversary
was on Easter weekend, so things didn't really work out for going
on a date.) I ended up having to work at a client site until later
than I thought -- but I got home in time for us to be changed and
headed out by 6. We swung by the GMan for a few beers and discussed
the Microsoft trial / breakup possibility, laughed at silly people
and then headed out to dinner at La Griglia.
It was surprisingly
not crowded that night. Dinner was great as usual, and Katie got a
really good desert -- a special treat! Anyway, you'd think that for
a big night out that we'd close down the town, but we just headed
back home and were in bed by 11 pm. Nice and relaxing.
We got up Saturday
and did a little bit of chores around the house, went to Eddie Bauer
for a few minutes and then had lunch at D'amico's in the Village.
After that, we headed to Berings to look for a grill for Carolyn,
and then up to the lake. The rest of the weekend was just hanging
out, cooking dinner and relaxing some more. Not much to it.
We got back in
town late afternoon on Sunday and I ended up working late on Sunday
night and getting up early for a meeting on Monday.
So -- that's
about it for the recent stuff. Over the past month we've done so much
that it's probably just better to summarize the older stuff and let
you just look at the photos: We made a trip to Fredricksburg to take
some photos in the wildflowers - that didn't really work out, but
we had a good time; we went to Tim and Christina's fish fry and then
out to dinner with our friends Kathy and Greg at Liberty Noodles,
in the Rice Hotel - good food; Jackson got an ear infection (a small
one); I made a fast and furious trip to Dallas and back on a Wednesday
for a server presentation; we had family in for Easter - and Laura
joined the Catholic church (congratulations!); and we took our 'motion
bassinet' over to Chris and Michelle Oglesby's to set it up for their
new baby, who should be born this month.
Anyway, that's
it for now. Look forward to thoughts on our upcoming trip to Maui
(July) and Seattle (June) in future weeks. Also, Katie's going out
to Cleveland, OH next Monday and Tuesday.
