The weekend is
here after a long week at work, and I'm looking forward to it! I've
been really pushing hard at the office on some new client work, and
in getting the team up to speed on some new internet privacy regulations,
so having a chance to kick back and relax a little -- and possibly
do some non-'work' computer stuff -- is a welcome thing!
As you may have
seen, in the past week I've developed a handheld version of this series
of pages (the 'family' diary section) that you can sync on your PDA
with the AvantGo network. If you have a Palm, be
sure to subscribe. (It's free, of course.) It's a pretty cool
little bit of technology that I have been working on that we'll eventually
be able to roll out as an additional product / service to our clients.
Other than that,
things are pretty normal in the ol' work life. Socially, things are
pretty hot, too -- Last weekend was Mother's day, of course, and we
had a great time with everyone getting together from the Mullen side.
We converged on Tom's house about mid-day on Sunday and feasted and
fested for hours --
Which was possibly
the last thing we needed, after having feasted for hours the day before
at Katie's brother Tim's anual Fish Fry. I've got to admit to having
more than my fair share of fried shrimp over the course of the afternoon,
but hey, that's how it works when I get to help out frying up the
redfish and coconut shrimp . . .
As for this weekend,
we're going out to Enron Field on Sunday for the game against the
Reds -- it's Larry Dirker Bobble Head toy day. Of course, they only
give the bobble head toys to the first 10,000 kids, so we're taking
Jackson and Porter so we, er, they can get two! I figure with the
little ones in tow, we'll last about half the game. That's ok -- we'll
catch the rest on the radio and on TV when we get home. As long as
I get a good ol' Dome Dog with extra mustard and rellish, I'm happy.
My aunt Jeanne
is also going to be in town this weekend, and she's supposed to stop
by on Saturday to see the boys -- we haven't seen her in a while since
we stopped going to Baton Rouge to see my dad, so it's good that she's
coming in town. Now we just have to figure out a way to get over there
to see all the other family we don't really get to see very often!
Oh, well, there's
a lot of summer ahead of us --
