Happy Birthday to Katie!!

Well, today is Katie's birthday, as you can tell by the note above. She's 31 -- send her your well wishes --

So, since we last got together, things have been pretty good. We did mother's day at the Four Seasons with my mom, Katie's mom, Katie, Jackson, Row, Myra, Tim, Christina, Kyle, Trevor, Tom, Laura, Spencer and Taylor -- what a trip! We had so many people that we had to split into two tables, but that was fine. The kids were good, the food was great and all the moms looked like they had a good time.

I'll post a few video clips later in the week.

Over the next week (last week) and last weekend, I just did my normal routine, as did Katie and Jackson. Last Saturday, we had the family guild meeting at our house. At the end of the meeting I let everyone (everyone that came) know that Katie and I didn't feel we could continue with the current guild. Long story -- and although I'm known for brutal honesty on this page most of the time, I won't get into it here. Protecting the feelings of others, you know . . .

Anyway, we'll be looking to get into another guild. I think they're worthwhile.

So, that killed a few hours Saturday afternoon (we did actually have a really good meeting, though), and afterwards, Katie and Jackson went over to Carolyn's to see the Kirby clan in from Nac. I did a bit of work -- really just organizing for a full day of work on Sunday -- and then jumped on the motorcycle for a trip to BW3 for some wings for dinner. They have a new sauce that I really love, by the way. It's a Caribbean Jerk sauce, and it rocks out! Hot and flavorful -- not for the timid, but if you like spicy food, this is the sauce for you.

Sunday was basically toast -- we got up early for 7 am Mass (really nice: no singing, peaceful, and plenty of chairs!) -- then Katie took Jax to Carolyn's and I went back to bed for an hour and a half! I've been having some trouble sleeping, and Sunday I was just exhausted. The extra nap hit the spot -- I got up, did some work, got some lunch and then went over to my buddy Dow's for a little new business.

He and a buddy want to start a new business and they need a business plan, all the information on how to open a business (licenses, EIN numbers, etc.) and the legal work to incorporate. So I'm helping them out. I think they'll do well --

So, that brings us to this week. Yesterday Jackson and I went to Eddie Bauer to get Mommy some things for her birthday, and of course a card. Then this morning we gave them to her after breakfast.

Well, we're going out to dinner tonight -- I don't know where -- and I hope she has a good time.

Jackson's just now waking up from his afternoon nap, so I really ought to go -- Be good!
