I know it's been
a while, but I just want to post a quick update today -- more later...
I finally had
to break down and get a new iMac for home -- the one I had was
going on 4 + years old, and it just finally started flaking out
on me. It got to the point where things just stopped working for
no real reason -- but Mickey Mouse and Winnie the Pooh games still
worked just fine, of course!!
Anyway, I've
finally gotten the new computer all set up and running and am getting
used to the new way of doing things in Apple's new operating system.
It's pretty nice, but has some differences that aren't as easy
as before -- like switching between my email and Katie's -- we
have to totally log in as different users (since it's UNIX based)...
Oh, well.
Mother's Day
and Father's Day were both good weekends for us -- and we've been
beaching it as much as possible, either down at Tom and Laura's
condo when they let us or down in Galveston for the day. I really
appreciate them letting us use the condo -- and I love going to
the beach with Katie and the boys! It is the highlight of any week,
for sure.
We also went
down to the beach for Katie's birthday, which was great! We took
a few days off and built a longer trip around the Memorial Day
weekend, and really took it easy. The boys liked spending time
on the beach and in the pool, and we had good long walks up and
down the coast. We even went crabbing and caught some nice blue
crabs. Katie also showed the boys how to find hermit crabs in the
bay, which amazed them to no end.
Anyway, I'm working
on some internal strategies and local business stuff for work now,
so no travel for a few weeks. This weekend, it's down to Surfside,
and next week, there's a PTO mixer for new parents at Jackson's
'big boy' school.
Should be a fun
next few weeks...
