Hello and Happy Father's Day to everyone out there! I woke up this morning with a bit of a stomach ache, so I missed going to church with Jackson and Katie, but when they got home (and I got up), Jackson gave me a very nice card, a 'World's Greatest Dad' t-shirt, and matching J-Bug and Daddy Haiwiian shirts from Old Navy -- pretty cool!

Myra's coming in town this morning to see dad (who got here on Friday) and to spend time with us for her birthday. The plan is for us to all go out to dinner tonight, and for her to spend the night here at the house.

Well, in other news, I was supposed to go to the Republic of Texas Motorcycle Rally in Austin last weekend, but that idea got ditched -- it rained all weekend. I heard a ton of people still went, but I'm not one for riding 3 hours in the rain, camping and hanging out in the rain and mud for 2 days, then riding home in the rain. I know -- I'm a puss . . .

So what's up on the Jackson front: About a week ago, he figured out how to stand up in his crib. How did I find out? Well, the first clue was the big 'THUD' from his room, followed by blood-curdling screams. I ran into his bedroom and found him on his back on the floor -- he jumped. I was in a mini panic for a while, called Katie and the doctor, and after about 15 minutes, Jackson was laughing and eating an animal cookie. Oh, well -- that night we made sure to 'zip him in' under the cat-proof cover; and the next morning, I spent about 45 minutes taking the bed apart and lowering the mattress.

I don't really think that episode qualifies for the 'World's Greatest Dad' competition, but that's the way it goes. At least it was no emergency room visit.

Jackson's also sitting up by himself (from a laying position) and crawling now. The funniest thing is that since he just started to sit up by himself he thinks it's the coolest thing -- and he won't lay down for a nap! He just sits himself up and giggles. What can you do?

Otherwise, everything is going pretty good -- nothing earth-shaking to report. Only 6 more weeks til Maui --
