Here's a little
fun stuff for the page this week. An email that was actually sent
to us (a bunch of us) here in Tulsa:
Neat upper lip
No lie, this

Subject: It's time to "CLEAR" this up
It has come
to my attention that there is some concern amidst the floor that this
persistent canker sore on my upper lip is posing somewhat of a health
hazard to the organization. I can assure each and every one of you
that my recent outbreak is not, I repeat, NOT contagious. In an effort
to ease the recent scare and to alleviate any confusion, I will be
setting up one on one meetings with each and every one of you to discuss
and educate on this non infectious blemish. For those of you who have
supported me during this difficult time, I thank you.
Mike
Anyway, thought
you'd get a kick out of that. It was a good laugh for us here on site.
This morning
I got up way too early and caught my weekly flight to work. This was
really the first time I woke up and said to myself, "I really
don't want to get on that plane!" Just basically tired -- not
tired of traveling, just tired, period. I think it will wear off with
a good night's sleep tonight, though.
This weekend
I basically went non-stop from the time I got home Friday night around
10 until I went to bed Sunday night at 11. I didn't want to waste
a minute with my family, and I think it wore me out.
Saturday morning
we got up and played around with the boys and went to lunch. I got
my car waxed (a bit overdue) and then Saturday night we went out to
dinner with Travis and Julie. Los Cucos -- pretty good mexican food.
I got my fix for the week, so I think I'm good.
Sunday we got
up as usual and went to Mass early, then for donuts. Around mid-morning
we met our friends Sara, Eric and their daughter Kiara at the Museum
to visit the Cokrell Butterfly Center. Jackson had a blast seeing
all the colorful butterflies and looking up at the huge dinousaurs!
By the time we left at about 1, he was totally beat. I took him straight
to his bed when we got home and he passed out in less than a minute.
Porter was hanging
out in the front snugglie with Katie for most of the trip around the
museum, and I think he really enjoied all the action. He had a pretty
big smile on his face most of the time in the butterfly center. When
we got out into the other part of the museum, though, he stretched
out in the stroller to relax -- but he never really took a nap.
That afternoon
we decided to move Porter and Jackson into the bedroom together for
the first time. I had to actually end up taking Porter's bed apart
to get it out of our room and into the boys' room. We lined the beds
up on one wall, with the big bed across on the other wall, and things
really opened up in there.
Sunday night
I had a chance to cook dinner and relax -- we got the kids bathed
and put to bed and Katie and I just watched a little worthless TV
and spent a few hours together. Jackson didn't fuss too much with
the change in sleeping arrangements, and when I left this morning,
they were both sleeping soundly -- We'll see if it lasts!
Anyway, gotta
run --
