OK - things are
finally getting back to a bit of normalcy. Of course, I'm still in
Tulsa, but that's OK (no pun intended!)
Anyway, the past
few weeks have been a bit hectic -- I've been on the road considerably,
and with the new security at the airports, things take a little more
time that normal. It's not quite the 2 + hours before flight time
that the news / govt. recommends, but it still isn't as easy as it
has been in the past.
Other than that,
though, things have been going pretty good. Over the past few weekends,
we've been busy tracking down all the cows around town in the Houston
Cows on Parade art exhibit.
I'll post the photos when I get back in town this weekend, but just
let me say this: we've had a blast! So far we've seen about 135 of
the cows and take 5 rolls of film with Jackson in front of, beside,
under and around the artistic heffers.
Jackson absolutely
loves going to see the cows! He wasn't quite sure about it at first
-- he wanted to stay with each cow and didn't want to leave. I guess
he thought that when we left one cow, that it was over. Well, by last
weekend, he was an old pro: we'd see and play around one group, and
then off to the next, lickety-split. "Go see cows," he'd
say --
This weekend
we'll do more cows on Friday near the zoo. Friday night is the Greek
Festival and Katie and I plan on getting Nana to watch the boys so
we can go out and have a bit of cross cultural fun. Saturday night
is Bingo night at our church bazaar, and Sunday, of course, is the
bazaar Family Fun Fest. We've got a busy weekend, to say the least.
And, in all that,
we are also getting ready (mentally and physically) for our upcoming
trip to Disney World! We've already got our hotel reservations at
Disney's Caribbean Resort, we've got our preferred seating for the
Winnie-the-Pooh character dinner and our Chef Mickey breakfast, we've
bought our park tickets and all that's left is the plane tickets --
I'll wait on those until my next comp ticket comes in from Southwest
(Katie and J-Bug fly free!)
Well, gotta go
actually get some work done --
