Hey -- long time,
no update . . . Sorry!! Too much to fill in all here, but I'll post
up the highlights:
I just got back
in town today from Dallas, where I'm working up an eLearning CD-ROM
for American Airlines. Lots of tedious work, but it's cool that I'm
putting in voice-overs and interactive exercises. Pretty neat, but
still a lot of handy-work.
Tomorrow morning
we'll all pack into the cars and head to Austin for Myra and Kenneth's
wedding on Saturday. Katie's going up a bit early for the bridesmaid's
shower, and I'm bringing the boys and Caroyly after they eat lunch.
Sunday, it's
back home and then, for me, off to Memphis to start on a project with
Harrah's Casinos that I've been working the past month and a half
or so trying to land. We finally got it!! Should be pretty cool --
it puts me and Ian back on a team together again, and I'll hopefully
be able to grow the client account to include more work in other areas.
We've still been
hitting the beach on the weekends, when we can -- but last weekend
was a bear in terms of things to do == We had a Museum of Fine Arts
party, the Greek Festival, our church bazzar, and tons of other things
going on the weekend that we wanted to do, but couldn't fit in. And
we were all sick with an end-of summer cold. I've still got mine --
too much late-night working, I guess.
Porter is getting
so big lately -- and he's starting to talk up a storm!! He can say
'Jackson' and a ton of other words, too. This afternoon, Jackson told
me he'd 'be right back' and Porter followed him to the door, turned
around and said 'I be right back' -- what a hoot! But with all that
comes his little temper, though. Sweet little Piddy has quite a stubborn
streak . . .
And Jackson's
finally turned the corner with potty training. He's a pro at peeing
in the toilet, and just this week he has mastered pooing on the potty.
He's as proud of himself as we are of him. He told me today, "Daddy,
I'm getting big like you; not big like Mommy." Don't know what
that means, but he is getting big -- but he's still (and always wll
be) my little boy.
Other than that,
things are pretty quiet -- getting ready for life back on the road
will be a bit to get back used-to, but the 3 day weekends will be
nice with the family, even though I'll miss the heck out of them in
the travel days . . . Oh, well, I do what I can. And I hope it doesn't
hurt them too much my being gone --
