Settling
back in after all the hub-bub
After all the
events of the last couple of weeks, last week seemed, well -- boring.
Really, all we did was just hang out as a family and get back to all
our normal routines.
Jackson pretty
much has gotten over whatever he had that sent us to the doctor, so
we're all pretty happy about that.
Over the weekend,
we did the usual things around the house and Katie took Jackson over
to her mom's to visit. Carolyn was keeping Kyle for the weekend while
Tim and Christina were in Las Vegas, so Katie wanted to pop over for
a while. I went to ride the motorcycle for a few hours!
Then on Sunday,
we went out to see our friends Sara, Eric and Kiara in Kingwood for
a few hours. The were leaving to go to the Hash at 2:30, and we decided
to skip it (all wilderness -- high shiggy content; didn't want to
do it with the lil' Jax.) So we headed back to town, and packed Jackson
into the stroller for a trip to the Gingerman. I guess it was "Take
your baby to the bar" day -- there must have been 5 other ones
there during the time we were sitting outside. It was a beautiful
day, too. Katie and I just pulled up to one of the picknic tables,
settled down (Jackson was asleep) and played 'farkle' -- a really
fun dice game.
Anyway, a good
weekend and a good start to the work week.
As I might have
said last time, I think I got a cold from some kid -- either at the
doctor's office or at the hospital. Anyway, I was a bit under the
weather for the better part of the week.
Needless to say,
being as active as I am in taking care of Jackson during the days
-- he got the bug, too. It's pretty much limited to just a stuffy
nose and a little bit of sneezing, though. We got him some saline
drops / spray for his congestion and are running a humidifier at night
for him.
So, that brings
us to the coming weekend: We're going to Baton Rouge to visit my dad
and all the rest of the family (both Katie's and mine) over there.
And we're going to the UH v. LSU football game and tailgate parties.
We're driving -- so that should be an experience. I'll tell you all
about it -- and show you the photos later!
