Thanksgiving
has come and gone -- and boy, was it a good one!! My sister and her
boyfriend came in town for the day for dinner, so that made it 5 this
year sitting down at the table. Quite a bit different from last year's
12+ . . .
I also was extremely
happy to have Chris, a friend from work, bring his daughter by for
a while in the morning to socialize and for her to play with Jackson.
Tori and Jackson played for a couple of hours and really seemed to
have a good time. Around lunch time, Katie made the two of them some
grilled cheese sandwiches, and the two of them had a little feast
of their own.
This Thanksgiving
also marked the first real big-time use of the new oven, too -- which
was GREAT! We could fit the turkey, casserole and stuffing all in
there at once (if we wanted to.) The menu? We had spinach and artichoke
dip as an appetizer, an herb-garlic roasted turkey, foccocia stuffing,
broccoli and rice casserole, cabernet reduction turkey stock gravy,
pumpkin pie and fresh whipped cream to top it with.
I'll be having
turkey sandwiches today for lunch -- with all the trimmings, of course!
I did this last
year and liked being able to look back on it -- and also so that all
the loyal readers keep up with all the minutia . . .
