The holidays
are red-hot upon us now! Over the past week we finally got the decorations
out of the attic and dragged in a fresh Noble Fir to decorate. Check
out the webcam for a look.
We just got in
from spending a little relaxing quality time at Mom's house on Lake
Conroe and Jackson is running around our house, taking ornaments off
of the tree and generally being a one-year-old at Christmas time.
This weekend
was my new company's holiday party -- it was on a paddle-wheel casino
boat on the lake at Lake Conroe. I wasn't sure about it at first --
it is quite a way for everyone to drive for a holiday party -- but
we really had a good time! My mom and Row took care of the JBug on
Friday night while Katie and I went to the festivities.
The food was
good on the boat, as was the odds at the downstairs casino! Katie
and I basically hung out with my friends Travis and Chris and their
wives and just enjoyed the season. Throughout the night Mike Hatch
(the big guy) drew names for special door-prizes -- I won a gift card
to Dillards. I've decided Katie can use it after Porter's born to
get some things for herself --
The party ended
up at about 10:30 and we went back to mom's for the night -- and Jackson
stayed snugly in Mimi and Papaw's room. Of course, Katie had to sleep
in the upstairs bedroom while I slept downstairs -- she forgot her
earplugs and that was the only way she would get a good, solid night's
sleep!
Anyway, we woke
up on Saturday and had breakfast and just lazed around the house all
day watching the hoopla over 'inDecision 2000'. As of now, the Supreme
Court will be hearing Bush's case to certify the election and quit
the recounting tomorrow at 10am our time.
Don't forget
to check out the new movie -- PJ Play
-- shot over the weekend, too.
Saturday night,
Katie made a special chicken and mushroom risotto for us in honor
of our 11th aniversiary of our first date! Very good stuff . . . And
this morning, we got up, lazed around some more and came home when
Jackson was ready for a road-nap.
Well, that's
about it for now. I've got a really busy week next week getting some
things ready at work to golive on a 2.0 revision of a client site,
and I'm going to get to be a part (small) of an important presentation
to another client.
